Default New help with 4x4???

Well i hope i can get some help im very confused. I have a 2000 chevy blazer lt 4x4 and when i bought it the service 4x4 light is on. Guy told me it was the actuator in the 4x4. Well i was driving down the road the other day and noticed that the engine was cutting out for a split second just randomly, a few times and would stop doing it. Also i noticed when the engine would cut out the 4x4 lights would blink on ( the lights on the 4x4 like orange and the one red light isnt on or anything when the car is running) and then off same with the engine cutting out. But a few times i have caught it when the lights were blinking and i held the 2hi button when i did that all buttons stayed on and when they would go off so would the service 4x4 light for a second and then it would come back on. Please someone help me Thanks Much

What this sounds like is an interruption in one of the ignition power supply lines. The reason your dash lights go off temporarily and your 4wd lights blink would be the vehicle resetting itself. This could be caused by a loose wire or a failing ignition switch.

I doubt this is causing your service 4wd light though, especially since it sounds like the light was on prior to the cutting out issue. Also, the 4wd system should not be able to cause any issues with the main electrical system.
