Default service engine light

my service engine light has been on for a while now and when it first came on i went to autozone and they pluged in there little box and it said that it was only an emosions problem so i didnt worry about it but was wondering what it was and if anybody else has had these problem.

i have no idea what the code is i just know it is a emisions problem tryed changing the gas cap and that didnt do anything because that is what they recomended

gas cap
go back and get the code read again, and have them clear it from memory. Make sure when you put your gas cap on you hear it "click" half a dozen times or more. Post up that code and we cna get more specific about your problem.
