Default Engine Pull 1991 S10 Blazer

alright, so me and my dad have been working on removing my engine from my blazer, and we've been following the Haynes guide's way of doing so.
so far everything has been alright, except we can't get to the upper bellhousing bolts to disconnect the transmission.
the guide says to remove the body mounts so you can access them by lifting up the body, but we can only remove the two front mounts, because there is no way to get at the nut for the other body mounts.
another idea we had, was to pull the transmission and the engine together.
if you have any experience in getting to the bellhousing bolts, or pullin them both, it would be appreciated.

it's a 1991 S10 Blazer Tahoe, with the 4.3 and i believe a 4L60E tranny.

sorry for the delayed response, I pulled the engine out of my 96 and was able to get the top bellhousing bolts with a taped swivel socket and about 3-4 feet of extensions going up the top of the trans. However after doing this I'm just going to remove the core support from now on and pull it out as a unit. That's how i plan on putting it back in. I know my info is on a 2nd gen but i hope it helps a little.

alot of times you have to lower the transmission down to get at the top bolts. like take the crossmember out and lower the tailend of the transmission down. sometimes what happens with older vehicles is the body mounts sag and the body actually becomes lower. i had a POS 85 where i had to take a floor jack and smash the cab back up off the transmission

also sometimes you can get at those top bolts from the top of the truck with a box end wrench
