need help transmission problem after rebuild
so i rebuilt my tranny 4l60e on my 96 chevy blazer just got it put in and started it up and there is tranny fluid coming from the bellhousing... i replaced all the teflon seals and the front pump seal and orings... question is does the vechile need to run a little long and let the teflons heat up and expand for it to seal? any help is greatly appricated

Either the front seal is leaking from a blockage in the return circuit, or something else is really wrong. I would start by doing some research on that though. The seals you are talking about are internal and behind the pump. They seal shortly after installation. When compressed, it only takes 5-10 minutes for them to return to size.
A lot of fluid, or just drips?

alot of fluid....i noticed it as i was flushing the cooler( connected the pressure line to tranny lower port then goes to upper on radiator then left the return from cooler lower line and turned it on and waited for the clean fluid to come out.. that when i saw it start pouring out the bellhousing

Its probably the big seal that goes around the pump housing I had the same thing happen to mine .

like the big oring around the outside of the pump?
#6
yea thats the one theres a video on you tube on how to do it . Just type in 4l60e pump removal , and hes fixxing a astro van that has the same problem you are having .

Could it be because I didnt replace the bushings on the pump??
#8
yea quite possably , i did change the bushings when I rebuilt it and that gasket and the big o ring . I was unsure of where the leak was coming from so I did all three and it cure the problem . I did not want to drop it again .

That's exactly where I sit I dont want to do it a third time so I think I will do the same plus double check all the work I did like all the clearances and air check the clutch packs

Would anyone happen to know all the clearances on the clutch packs or anything else I need to check off the top of their head? Also where do I put air to?
