Default fuel pump help please,,please,,please

i just relocated the fuel pump and replaced the fuel filter and double checked everything is flowing the right way but for some reason my card isnt getting any fuel i tried about 20 secs of cranking untill the battery went dead and lost a cell, but my question is, is there a certain way to "prim" the fuel lines or the carb???i poured some in the carb and it ran wonderfully for about 45 secs then shut off poured my gas in and it ran again but thats all it did for about 45 secs again, any ideas would help
thanks

Default RE: fuel pump help please????

Do you have any electrical wires connected to the carb? Are there supposed to be? I had an 85 s10 that had the semi-electronic feedback carb on it and it was a royal pain...

Are you thinking that things are air locked?? That would be one way to make sure you have proper fuel at the carb...
