RE: gas tank removal
Pull the straps with the tank supported. Lower a bit to gain access to the lines, then lower out of the way.

[ol]Loosen the filler neck hose clamp at the fuel tank.
Disconnect the fuel tank filler neck from the fuel tank.
Support the fuel tank with a piece of wood on a jack
Remove the fuel tank shield. 4 bolts.
Remove the tank straps. 2 bolts
Lower the fuel tank..slowly. Best to have help to steady the tank and watch for any hoses getting caught up.
Disconnect the fuel and vapor hoses and the electrical connections at the sender
[/ol]

RE: gas tank removal
Gas weighs roughly 8 pounds per gallon and figure on 20 pounds for the tank.
10 gallons of gas is roughly 80 pounds plus a 20 pound tank. That's 100 pounds, if oyu cant bench it with one arm use a jack.

RE: gas tank removal
Sorry it has taken so long to reply... As far as a 1-10 scale (10 being the most difficult), I'd probably put this at a 6 due to the awkwardness and definite possibility of hitting corroded fittings. The key is cleanliness and support. If possible, after dropping the tank a few inches support it on some jack stands while you disconnect the various electrical, fuel, and vapor lines.

RE: gas tank removal
be carefull removing the gas tank if u have the metal tank u'll see a vent valve in the front of the tank on top, the hose to it is too short and when u lower the tank and u havent release that hose the valve will break so i recomend taking that hose off first the valve is like $22 in the dealership good luck
