losing power
Over the last month occasionally the 98 V6 s-10 blazer has lost power. The has gotten worst. Never a problem when cold, only starts 20 or thirty minutes after warmed up. The other night I noticed the thermostat was sticking so I replaced it. At that time the only code I had was an egr code. Yesterday after driving 30 minutes power was lost and it would studder and ping and barely make it up hills. Got to work and drove it home for a 30 minute ride an not a problem. Checked codes and I had a mass air flow sensor code. Reset and drove to work today 30 mins and no problem. Any ideas?

RE: losing power
If you're throwing codes, you should address the source of the problems rather than just clear the codes. You also might need to do a basic tune-up if you haven't already.

RE: losing power
I read similiar symptoms on another post. The guys catalytic convertey had internally self destructed and was clogging the exhuast. He rodded it out and problems went away.I remembered hearing rattling sounds coming from mine so I did the same to mine. Vehicle runs great, after 200 mile new code, says catalyst not performing to snuff go figure. Non emission monitoring state so I am sorry to say a few extra polar bear will be floating on iceburgs due to my insensitivity.

RE: losing power
Then you won't be upset when a polar bear eats your truck, right?
