What is really the best grade oil to use @230k+ mile 4.3

 

synthetic all oil is basically the same (except for weight)

 

I'm getting a little eine knock during cold start, maybe because it's due for an oil change

 

wouldnt hurt, but I believe these trucks are known for engine knock at start up, AKA piston slap

 

Yeah,it ain't so bad when the oil is not so broken down, that's why I love Chevy they will basically tell you what's wrong if you listen to it . What about engine mounts,are they hard to change out?

i have a constant knocking going on ,dont know if its the cat converter our my engine. can anyone help me?

 

Well,that little piston slap in my engine turned out to be a slung rod bearing . Thinking about getting a rebuilt one from the guys at Remanns. Anyone ever heard of them?
