Default Oil Filters 4wd vs. 2wd

Okay I have an interesting question. Is there any harm in using a bigger 4wd oil filter on a 2wd truck? I have used both and haven't seen a difference in oil pressure, etc. but just want to make sure with the experts before I purchase another 4wd filter for my 2wd beast. I figure that since they cost the same, why not get the 4wd one which is longer with more filter media.

thanks

If it screws on and seals, it'll work.

I used to use the 4.3L oil filter on my Bonneville with the L67 supercharged 3.8L v6.

X2.
I use the larger Wix filter on my 2wd. More media = more filtration.

I wasn't sure if, and forgive my ambiguous description, the threaded oil pressure valve (the cylinder the oil filter threads on to) is longer on a 4wd than a 2wd or not. I guess I was concerned that if it is and I'm using a longer filter on a 2wd truck then the oil isn't circulating and filtering properly and affecting the pressure. Does anyone know for fact by owning both a 2wd & 4wd 4.3L mpfi if the sending cylinders are the same length?

I'm not sure what it is specifically that you are concerned about, but if the filter threads on and the seal, well, seals, then it will work.
