Default Please help! Oxygen sensor question

Hello to everyone! This is my first time on this forum so I hope there's great people on here! I have a 2000 chevy blazer ls 4.3 with 140k service engine light came on the other day and the codes were for egr and ho2s insufficient results bank 3 sensor 1. My question is it OK to pull that o2 sensor and try to clean it to see if it helps? If so what do I use to clean it with? Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum.

The new member area is just for introductions, so I moved this to Engine and Transmission so more people will see it.

Never knew anyone who has done it, although i did read you can do it by soaking in seafoam. Really though, if you have it off you may as well just put a new one in, fairly cheap and you`ll be doing it soon anyway

I would just replace it but I'm moving to Nevada in three days and need all the money I can get. Just looking for a possible quick temporary solution.

The B1S3 oxygen sensor is downstream, after the converter. It has absolutely no affect on engine performance. It is there strictly to monitor the catalytic converter.
