(((PLZ HELP!!!! 2002 Chevy Blazer 4L60E)))
Sorry im kinda a newbie to all this car stuff... lol
I have a 2002 Chevy Blazer and I am (well not me literally me) but not important anywho... the transmission went out on me while i was on my way from El Segundo, CA to Pahrump, Nevada ( Who names a City that anyways) july 2,2015 i ended up putting lucas no slip in the trans mission and that got me the rest of the way to nevada (give or take 3-4 hours) and all the way back to El Segundo (for those who dont know El Segundo is 5 mins max from lax airport) i noticed a leak (at the end kinda like a gushing waterfall) coming from under the truck and i had to keep putting transmission fluid in it... but when i put regular transmission fluid all it would do is run straight thru no bs it was like my transmission became a funnel for me to pour fluid on the concrete... so i asked my friend if he would take a look at her because im almost sure thats not supposed to happen.... it ended up being some plug or something that the ring /seal ended up getting old or just wore out it was something stupid. after we fixed that she ran normal then not a week later I was hit by a speeding driver!!!! dont really know if any of that stuff i just typed is really important but you can never be to sure i guess... anywho... one day i was trying to back out of my drive way to go get formula for my youngest son (not that important) and it felt like my transmission slipped but this time it never slipped back into place (it was doing that for about a month before she ended up really dying on me slipping but then she would slip back into gear) so i tried putting her in drive and pull back into the drive way (bc i was half way in half way out) but she barely moved in 1st gear i didnt have any gears i had to basically push her back into the drive way and pushing her back into the drive way with a 9 year old, 8 year old, 6 year old, & 17 month old is not something i would recommend anyone try... (lol not really im not a evil mom) i had to ask my neighbors if they would be so kind and help me thank goodness they were home and they didnt mind helping or else i wouldnt be here wasting someone time reading all this so down to my real question.. my friend is rebuilding the transmission for me because i cant really afford to put her in the shop so he wants to know if the pump should have this indention in it? should i buy a new pump or is this one ok? i am attaching 3 pics of the indention/groove im asking about... thank you for your time and thank you in advanced for your help and for understanding im a newbie to all this i can fix atvs and gokarts but automobiles is a whole different story..

REPLACE IT!!! or find a way to surface the pump cover.. that groove was cut into the pump cover from the pump rotor. I buy good used from eBay there are two different guys I use and have never gotten a bad part yet. 1st is powertrainpartsplus and 2nd is big sky engines. I looked (curiosity got me) neither one showed a pump part #74500G which is a 96-02 short stator PWM type for 4.3L or 5.7L motor there are others check out eBay, I saw one from texas for $40 plus a little s+h. they are pretty common and should be inexpensive.
