Ya'all may recall my previous post about the shift shaft seal. As it turns out the prior owner of my baby was'nt much of a mechanic. He buggered up the shaft and had the seal in backwards. Anyway, since I put this mess back together I can't open my rear widow, don't have back up lights, and the gear position indicater on the dash is not lite up. What's up please?

Verify you hooked up the wiring harnesses on the drivers side of the tranny.
both the back up lights and dash indicator are feed off those connections.

Yes everything is plugged in. I noticed that the switch unit is cracked between the two plugs, could this affect th connection? It worked before I took it apart. I ordered a new unit from ROCKAUTO.COM it should be in before the weekend. I'll let you know if this repairs the problem. Thanks.
