I'm from Baltics (north of Europe), so no s10 specialists around, no GM parts around, no 4l60e specialists to ask . And this forum is a main information about s10. So my situation is: My relative have 1997 4wd blazer without transmission standing still for couple of years, transmission was death, parting out and lost. Now I need 4wd, and I wish to alive above blazer. All tranny I found around is 1995 4l60e 4wd and 1997 4l60e 2wd. So my idea is to convert 1997 2wd 4l60e to 4wd using 1995 4wd parts and install to track. is it possible? how can I do that and what I should do if it's possible?
As I find in internet 1995 4l60e fit only to 1995 cars becouse of the electronics and computer, is it coreect? Or it's possible to sawap something from 1997 2wd 4l60e to 1995 4wd 4l60e to run 1995 4l60e 4wd on 1997 truck correctly? (I understand that the best way is to get 1997 4wd tranny, but no around other tranny than two mentioned above, as well as transatlantic transportation make my project waste of ferce ond money). Any other possible desition ?
