Default Transmission fluid change DIY?

I have a '01 Blazer 4wd. I want to do a trans fluid change. I tried searching but couldnt find any instructions for it. Is there a DIY procedure available on this site?

Thanks.

If it is any thing like the 1st gen blazer you need to support the transmission at the output shaft, Remove the trans crossmember (2 Bolts on each side plus the transmission mount). Remove the transmission pan bolts Leaving the front pan bolts for last to allow thepan todrop slowly and catch thetransmission fluid in acontainer.Once most of it is drained you can remove the last of the pan bolts but still be carefull as there is still some fluid left in the pan. Remove filter and make sure theO-Ring is removed as well. I have had to use a scribe to remove the O-Ring in the past. Install filter with new O-Ring. Install new pan gasket. DO NOT USE ANY GASKET SEALER. Install Pan and torque all pan bolts 10-15 ft lbs. Refill with transfluid through the dipstick tube. (8 Quarts Aprox.).

On the 1st gen blazers you can not get at all of the pan bolts without removing the trans. crossmember. Since you need to romove the pan I use a floor jack and a block of wood at the output housing of the transmission for support. You might be able to get at the bolts but the Pan will not clear the trans crossmember when trying to lower the rear of the pan. It has been a while since the last time I changed mine. But I done it at least half of dozen times.

Thanks for the thorough writeup! Aside from clearing the crossmember it looks pretty easy.
