Default transmission swap: 4l60e to turbo 350

My 4L60e is slipping moderately bad, so Ive decided to replace it instead of having it rebuilt... again. My initial idea was to swap it out for a manual, but the amount of work and bit of custom fabrication necessary has discouraged me, so I'm just throwing in another automatic. A friend of mine is going to sell me a THM 350 for 100 dollars, everything included, I'm sure that it will bolt up same as the old tranny, however I do have a few technical considerations before I blindly buy it. Mainly, what are the ramifications from putting a non electronically controlled transmissions in a truck that is designed for one, will my torque converter function normally with the new transmission, and is there anything else that could go wrong that I'm not anticipating?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks

There is A LOT of work to go from an electronic automatic to a non-electronic automatic. First, you will have to have the PCM reprogrammed to keep it from complaining about the missing transmission. Hopefully the TH350 has the proper provisions for an electronic speedometer pickup, if not, you will have to get a manual to electronic conversion box. Then you will have to connect the kick down cable. Get a longer driveshaft. After all of that, you may still have bugs to work out.
