Default Transmission tcase leak

Hi I blew up the rear house and slip yoke housing swing of my 87 k5 (np208) and drive shaft don't know the full reason thinking it was cause it was lifted and the shaft was still stock and I have to much play in my rear end (shimming that now) now that I have put on a proper shaft and fixed the housing of the tcase (runs fine now no vibration or anything) I noticed it's leaving at the connection between the tcase and tranny I'm thinking it's one or both seals tranny and tcase does anybody have any thoughts on it and of you think it's the seals do you have part number and how hard is it to replace the seals

its just a big paper gasket that goes around the outside of the transfercase. so you do have to take the transfer case out of the vehicle to do it. although they do sell a gasket i always just glob a bunch of silicone around the transfer case and never had any leaks.

the transfer case is a sealed unit, if only the transfercase seal was leaking fluid from the transmission would be forcing its way into the tranfercase. the back of the transmission is basically wide open so anything that is dripping on the ground is that big gasket that goes around the transfercase

I never had any luck finding the gasket at a parts store - I bought sheet gasket material and while my transfer case was out with a small ball peen hammer I tapped one out - took a few min to do - old school way of making gaskets
