Please help me......

95 Blazer is not running good at all....It has a veryhard start to the point where theonly way to get it started is to use starter fluid (and even that doesn't work all the time ) when it does start i cant get it to go over 1400 rpm's in gear (like the engine is bogging) replaced starter, fuel filter, fuel regulator, fuel poppits, checked all grounds that i can locate, checked plugs, replaced wires, cap and rotor fairly new, battery is new, removed o2 sensor just in case cat converter is clogged to allow some pressure relief, new coil, checked for carbon build up in egr valve, tps sensor is new.

 

Have you done the standard fuel pressure test as described many times? If so, what are the figures you get?

 

dont have the gauges to do an official test, but when i change the filter we activated the pump buy the key and it appeared to have a very strong flow (kinda like an elephant taking a leak(dont ask..lol)) i know i should probably borrow or rent the guage to do an official reading... whats spec?? 55-62 ???

 

Key in 'on' position ~52-62psi. Turn key to 'off' and it should not drop more than 2-3psi. It has to have 51psi to start.

 

Before i go and check that,
i was told by a mechanic today to check the plug that plugs into the spider and to clean it because they are common for carbon and gunk build-up which he claims will cause all of the afore mentioned problems. can anyone confirm this?? we are about to get a snow storm here in jersey so i figure i have about 48 hours of research that i can accumulate before i can work on it again.......

 

OK i've ckecked and replaced the fuel pumpit was only running 40 psi. new pump is pushing 60 psi. but still wont start when i pull the poppits off the spider body there is no fuel coming out when i try to crank it. could this be the power to the spider??? of is it the $300 spider???

 

Ok All Better now !!!!!!!! combination of fuel pump being bad AND spider was bad... next question is what can cause both to go at the same time???? or was it pure coincidense

 

Could be pure coincidence, but it also could have been a quick reaction to replacing the pump... Did you monitor fuel pressure after the pump shut off? A faulty FPR can cause a low pressure situation.
