1985 k5 blazer custom front end help
Alright so I have this 85 blazer that has been through a few owners but has never really seen any mud or action that i know of. It has the 5.7l in it and 4 wheel drive works and what not. But I have many parts that I would like to put on the engine like new headers and what not. Now I know the engine compartment is rather big. But today I thought to myself wouldnt it be cool if I could just open the hood up like a bus. instead of just the hood popping up the fenders come up too and when raised raise toward the front. Does anyone know of anyone who has done this, or have any ideas. I know i would need a hinge of some sort and probably a lot of welding. I just want to see if its possible. itd be good to get in there after mudding anyway.

yes it can be done, im at work now on a insanely slow computer but if you want go to coloradok5.com and check out their technical section i think there is a section on how to do it in there, if not its a good site to keep bookmarked

Most of the tilting front ends are made of fiberglass. If you wanted to tilt a steel front end you'd need some mechanical assistance in my opinion.
