Brake light problem...help!!!
I have a 94 full-size blazer, 5.7L, no significant modifications. The brake light fuse keeps blowing within minutes of replacing. Bulbs are fine. Tail lights work fine when lights are on and the blinkers are functioning fine. My hazard lights have not worked for some time. I read that the hazard and brake lights run thru similar wiring pathways.....should I replace the hazard switch or look elsewhere for the brake light fuse problem?
Just waiting to get pulled over for no brake lights,

Have you checked he brake switch? it may have a short?
Hazards work fine without tripping said breaker?
Electrical problems can be lots of fun.

You may have a problem with the hazaed flasher. Have you replaced it? I think they are probably two different flashers that end up running the same lights. I also agree on the switch. If you have cruise control there are two brake light switches that both have to be adjusted correctly.

Might also check your wiring to the lights from the fuse box to the lights. I had a similar problem with right brake and turn signal light. Turned to the the wire rubbing on he edge of the fender and it actually cut the wire. Put a butt connector splice and then covered the wires and no problem since.

hey i had a similar problem with my 95 blazer 4.3 vortec. my brake lights didnt work neither did my hazards. it is that turn signal multiswitch on the steering column. you do not need to take off the steering wheel just the steering wheel shroud. for that you are going to need torx bits and inverted torx bits. its not that complicated just a few screws and some finangling but it is not that hard. the brake lights run through that assembly so if the hazard flasher relay goes bad in that assembly its not allowing electricity to flow through to engage the brake lights or hazards. my first thought was the brake switch. wrong.... thanks to gm making one part do 50 different things the part costs a little bit. im normally a ford guy this is my first chevy and i like it so far because i have always somewhat liked the blazers but overall easy fix just not so easy on the wallet. hope this was helpful!
