Default 78 K5 Blazer

Hey guys, i have a 78 K5 Blazer with a carburated chevy 350. I'm not sure if i have a transmission problem or a carb problem. when ever i'm driving, i take off and it goes through first pretty well but then second kinda sticks and it seems like there isn't enough power to push through into third... I have to either let off and then hammer on the gas or i just continue on in second... I'm gonna get some supplies this weekend and go through and give it trans fluid, oil, more coolant, check front and rear differentials, and some other stuff... let me know what else to check.. thanks!!
