Driveshaft slack

Driveshaft slack
Hi Guys,
A while ago my k5's drive-shaft had to be re-fabricated because it was unbalanced beyond repair.
The guy who did it messed up the length of the shaft and now when i slide it into the transfer case (NP241C) i need to force it into the yoke and there's no slack what so ever on the transfer case end.
I'm going back next week to the guy to fix it, so i wanted to know how much slack i should have there?
(Blazer k5 1990, NP241C, bolt 10)
Thanks in advance, Yarin.

When you slide the slip yoke all the way into the TFC, the rear U joint should clear the yoke on the diff by at least a half inch or so. Any less and you are slamming the yoke all the way in every time the suspension travels up and down. Good way to break the adapter between the trans and TFC. Assuming the driveshaft guy re-used your original slip yoke, you should be able to easily see where it rode before in relation to the seal.
