Default Fuel Pump Replacement

I'm needing to replace my fuel pump in my 88 GMC Jimmy. So I got under the truck to drop the tank, and my receiver is in the way. Next I grabbed a deep-well socket to remove the receiver, but the bolts aren't threaded into the frame, there is another bolt on top. One that I can't reach without removing the rear bumper. I really don't want to remove the rear bumper. So now I'm thinking about cutting a hole in the floorbooard. But reading around it seems I would have to cut a pretty big hole (about 1' x 2'). Any ideas on a better way to handle this?

EDIT: Also, if I do cut an access panel, do you think a Dremel tool would do the job?

Yes, changing the pump is a PITA, you're right, the bumper and the hitch both need to come off....

If you cut a hole you don't need that big of a hole, I don't have the measurements but I'm sure if you ask around some boards that are more K5 friendly you'll get some rough measurements so you can get away with a hole more like 8"x8" or smaller. That is a much smaller hole to patch too.
