I have a 1977 K5 with a 350. Was running like a top til yesterday. at idle and with a little throttle runs good, but when I give it throttle it backfires thru the carb, jumps and sputters. put new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter and reset the timing. still there. any suggestions on what to do next? A mechanic buddy of mine said to pull the valve covers and watch the rockers, that it may be a cam. Want to exhaust all other possibilities before I do that.

 

pulled valve covers and it is a bad cam lobe. I'm gonna pull the engine and do a refresh on it. anyone know of a good place to get a rebuild kit and cam?
