Loud noise when brakes fist applied
Hey guys I was wondering if someone could help me out here I have a 87 full size and whenever I'm diving and have to apply the brakes suddenly or if I tap them there is a loud noise and jolt almost as if my front axle is shifting.... Is this normal if not please help... Thanks

Could be anything. Front leaf spring bushings or sway bar bushings might be bad. Also those caliper pin bushings wear out all the time. But jack it up and look. Might be something worse like a bad bearing or missing caliper bolt

Ok thanks so the best way is to just Jack it up and try and wiggle everything?

yeah pretty much or you can try just leaving it on the ground and havesomeone get in the truck with it running and move the wheel side to side and see if anything movies. if the leaf spring bushings are shot you might not really be able to move them cause of all the weight hanging down but by looking at them you can tell if tehy are shot
