Trouble Shooting
We have a 1987 K5 with a 350 and the TBI system. The vehicle is a project and it hasn't run in 2+ years. We replaced the fuel tank, and pump and placed a new battery in the vehicle. It turns over but won't start. My question is this...after sitting for so long and replacing the fuel system, do I need to pressurize the system? Can I introduce fuel directly into the TBI and see if we can start it that way? If so how much fuel and where? Its our first build and I am used to dealing with carburetors, not sure if the TBI is different.

The fuel pump is in the tank so there is no need to bleed the system. When you turn the key on do you hear the pump make a whine for about 3 seconds? If not you need to look at your fuel pump relay or perhaps the fuses. If you do hear the fuel pump whine then your problem is elsewhere.
