Break in
So some jack ***(s) broke into my blazer! everything was searched through and they busted up my steering column and ignition. Welcome to my new neighborhood i suppose, just moved in this month.
My key doesnt work and nor does a screwdriver, Im guessing thats why its still where i parked it. I decided to pull the ignition fuses in case anyone trys it again before I can get it fixed. Needing to vent a bit i guess.
Internet is being real slow now so havent downsized these pics, will edit later..
A hole was knocked in the door beneath the door handle, anyone know how this opened the door locks? seams too easy to me

Sorry to hear that! It really sucks. Last summer I was in Yakima for a convention and somebody broke into my truck ('93 Sonoma) and stole my computer, my stereo, some tools, and one of my favorite hats. It's unlikely, but I do hope the authorities are able to find the guys who did it and prosecute them.

Replacing the ignition wasnt as expensive as i first feared. the plastic parts are almost back together normally. Will be looking into an alarm and starter combo hopefully for the winter, I know my mechanic will install them but I may tackle it myself. Did it once before with a buddys car and it was a pain but doable.
The door still bugs me, if its this easy to open noting inside is very safe.
Was thinking of tack welding or pining in either a plate or steel mesh between door panel and the lock rods... any thoughts on this?

thats usually the worst part is they cause more damage to the vehicle then whats inside of it. i have kill switches hidden in both my trucks that disable the electrical. so it will crank but wont start, and my trucks are far from being brand new i figure the thieves will just think its a turd that wont start and leave it alone
also another tip is dont leave anything visible in your truck, i knew some dirtbags growing up that would break into cars for pocket change. so hide your change, gps, cds, etc. even hide your chargers cause if they see a tomtom and ipod charger on the seat that lets them know there are valuables inside.
better yet, have a tape deck and scatter cassette tapes on the seat and they will think you are broke i guess you just have to look at the bright side that they didnt get your truck
