Default Brush Guard Issues

Well I picked up a new (to me) grill guard today for 25 bucks. Went to put it on and realized that since it mounts to my frame, not bumper that my body lift is f***ing up the fit. Do you think that if I took a steel plate and drilled holes and then another set up 2 inches that this would work? I have a piece of 1/4" thick plate laying around. Any ideas.

Oh an BTW I can live with the small dent for 25$, plus you really can't see it unless the sun hits it just right.

Pm or ask wolfpack, I believe that he modified his brushguard for his BL.

Default No More Brush Guard Issues

Well after a little time in the machine shop at workit is mounted and lined up. I still have some finishing work to do ie: paint grinding and so on. But here she is in all her beauty. I am also now in search of some lights.

I'm about to buy a brush guard just like that. The guy selling it says it bolts straight to the outside of the bumber. I didnt want to do that. It has two peices that go down towards the towhooks but no brackets to attach the bar to the factoey towhook holes. is it safe to bolt it to the bumper or can i buy the brackets somewhere?

Nice find! I paid $150 for mine... I got it from a guy off of craigslist.
Since I have a 2" body lift myself, I redrilled and installed the center section 1" higher and then redrilled the holes and raised the side guards for the other 1" of lift. Now it lines up just fine with my headlights.

I just bought what was available (cheap) at the time. I don't really think it would matter as long as you are not hooking a strap to it to pull anything, etc.
