Default Fix one thing break another...

I haven't been here for a while, but the truck kept me bussy. Anyway I fixed the mechanical speedometer and broke the fule gauge needle in the process. Then a couple months later I fixed my brakes and broke a front wheel lug when putting the wheel back on. That made we wonder, this ever happened to you guys, come on post your mishaps and make us all feel better and laugh a little at these S10 Blazers we love to hate !

Working on the top rear of the engine manifold I broke the Oil Pressure Switch adapter off flush with the block. A small easy out and a long 1/4 in drive ext. I was able to remove the piece out of the block and I got a replacement Oil Adapter from the junkyard.

well if you broke your wheel stud, then did you over torque it or bind the lug up or something to that effect, or did it just break?

if it makes you feel better I did my fuel pump 2 weeks ago and had to remove the drive shaft, and hung it on my exhaust so it was out of the way and cracked my exhaust in the process.

Default intake mishap

Prob got you all beat. Rookie here changing my intake manifold gaskets in an 01 blazer. I was torquing the bolts to the required 11 ft pounds and the torque wrench made a loud popping sound. I thought oh no, I broke the bolt. So I checked, the bolt wouldnt wiggle or move up and down, so I continued on thinking the torque wrench made a loud pop when it was to spec. Then on the 7th bolt the torque wrench again popped, however this time the bolt head fell off. Wow, got 5 out with easy outs, but had to drill and tap two of the holes.

moral: a torque wrench making a click sound is good, pop is very bad

Hope this makes some of u feel better!!!
