Default Four wheel drive

Have a couple questions about the 00 Blazer i just got. Is it okay to have the 4 wheel drive on while driving on normal roads just to have the parts moving every now and then? And how much off roading is okay for a stock blazer.

it wont hurt anything, but I wouldn't do it alot...... and these little trucks will take quite a pounding off road, just remeber it is a stock vehicle and dont let your ego grow larger than your ground clearance.... its not a Humvee or a rock crawling jeep..... its basically a hatchback s-10 pickup...

You can have it in 4hi at up to highway speeds, but would only be useful for snowy situations. As for to get it moving everyonce in a while I don't see how it would hurt anything, just don't take really sharp corners a bunch on dry pavment. 4Lo is only to be used at speeds less than 25 mph and usually only when needed when extra torque is needed on slippery surfaces (ie. pulling a boat out of a slippery boat ramp or off road).

As for stock height and tire off roading, I have gone a bunch and had no problems other than occasionally bottoming out, which I did so bad once (got stuck on a rock) and dented my gas tank so it now has about a 16-17gallon capacity. Otherwise it does pretty good, just dont go into bogs cause it will sink, that is the only time I have got stuck. Here is a video of one of my offroading adventures (about halfway through the video and I sucked at driving it that time. Really deep mud hole on stock highway allseasons).

If you drive less than a hundred miles a week, and keep it out of 4x4, it should last you 3 weeks.

Yea even in my ole 88' I still get around 20-22MPG, about 80% highway.

Here is my bud in his stock 99 4x4:

Long as you take it easy and like said above...watch out for bottoming out...these trucks can handle some decent trails
