Going on a Long trip.
Hello,
Im planning on taking my blazer ( 2002 4 door 4x4) on a trip up to the snow, probably a 1,000 mile trip. My question is, what should I check prior to departing? I will be changing the oil and spark plugs soon ( since it needs it). I had the tranny flushed some 5,000 miles ago. What else? And I will br driving up to the snowy mountains for a skii trip.
Thanks in advance.

Here are a few threads:
Road trip!
long road trip
Pre road trip maintenance suggestions
I would check over all of your fluids, inspect your tires for odd wear and proper inflation, grease the front end, and maybe clean the windows and vacuum the interior (a clean vehicle is a happy vehicle)...

if youve kept up your maintenance then all you need to worry about is the latest weather and road conditions for your trip-worrying about or obsessing if things will goWRONG may actually cause the UNIVERSE to serve it back to you in spades...[:'(]your KARMA will inevitably decide ifyour vehicle or trip will go SIDEWAYS...........be safe and have a good trip!! Make sure all your documents are in order, hate to get 800 miles away and find out you forgot to replace the expired insurance card.[:@]
Keep extra oil/anti-freeze in the back.
Bag of sand/shovel/snow plow/excavator in the back is nice too.
Emergency kit-blankets, first aid kit, water, food etc.
That's all I can think of outside the Blazer itself.
