Default license plate light.....

I got a $75.00 ticket today on the 1st day driving my 1991 s-10 4dr blazer. How fun is that? I was capped for not having a lit license plate...i was looking underneath it(currently does not have a rear bumper) and i cant find any wires...so what can i splice into that will give me light for my plate..

Geez, not even a warning first to give you a chance to rectify the issue? That's harsh.

If you need to splice it into something I would use the tail lamp circuit for power.

Ha! You must be in Mass. I got the same thing out on the Cape a couple of years ago.

Try following the wires from the tail lights back toward the front there might still be the connector to the original plate lights. If not then I'd agree probably tail lights. Make sure not the brake/signal light circuit.

were you driving suspiciously, or acting weird. A Police friend of mine says a burned out liscense plate light is the #1 thing they look for to give them a reason to pull someone over to get a closer look at the person. It gives them a legal excuss when asked why they pulled you over. I agree with Flying3 not even a warning that is HARSH.
