Default Noob with a '96 & a '97

Hi y'all, Paul here,

I own a '97 4Wd and a '97 4WD, and the 97 started doing this screaming key alert thing when I pulled my non-functioning passengers side vanity mirror apart ( rather brutishly I might add) and I could swear when I was ripping the visor off its "stalk" I heard the ZZZT of a negative and positive shorting out. I mention this after reading about other possibilities (wiring to ign switch or the switch itself going bad)

I'll admit that I'm a noob to Blazer quirks not been around enough of these now that they are getting up there in years.

I've always liked the 2nd gen (for all their brake pad eating, nightmare tune-up, oil lines and 4L60E trans. and other issues) and vowed that when I retired and wanted my first 4X4, it would be one. I just happened to get lucky and been at the right place and right time to have picked my '97 with 204K on it for $150.00

The '97 is the one I plan on focusing my attentions on, and cleaning up and driving daily. the '96 may just become my toy, to go playing in the mud with, and just generally working.

I remember seeing a big rash of spider injection assemblies going bad in the early-mid 2000's, but nothing else that scared me off of them.

Thanks for lettin me jaw a minute, I'll see y'all around from time and a gain. Thanks for having this resource and for everyone who contributes.

Ya, I've worked on cars since the '80s, but I dont know everything by any means, looking to learn what y'all got to teach, and any help I can offer along the way, well heck, just ask!
