Default Oil Lines...

I just changed out the oil lines that run from the adapter (block) to the filter on my step dads '98 olds bravada. Wasn't as bad as my '93 by any means, but still somewhat of PITA. I didn't replace the lines that go from the filter to the radiator so I'm wondering if I have to worry about them blowing out before I get around to replacing 'em. They do look like they are leaking so should I be concerned? I would have done them as well but no one seems to stock the sob's. I have the same situation on my 93 and they seem to be holding up. Thanks

The upper lines do not flex anywhere near as much or as often as the lower lines. I would not be too concerned with them.

If an oil cooler line ruptures at 70 MPH, the oil pump will empty your crankcase in a heartbeat. You can't shut the engine down fast enough to avoid damage. If they're leaking, they're bad. The filter to radiator lines are much easier to replace than the lower lines. Keep in mind, the OEM lines use a single crimp to attach the hose to the fitting, (cheezy set up). Dorman lines use three crimps, they don't leak. The Dorman Part # is 625-100 and usually cost $30.00 or less. 100 times cheaper than a new engine, why take a chance?
