S-10 Blazer 350 conversion!!!
A couple months ago i purchased an 86' S-10 blazer. It's lowered to the ground and all that mumbo jumbo stuff. Now its time for a 350. I've found one here in town and all i need to is, What all do i need to purchase for the 350 it go into the blazer?
I know i need to purchase some some after market motor mounts and that is it so far. The car has the little 2.8 v6 in it now with a 350 turbo trans in it. Will this trans work? or will i have to purchase another one?
I just need to the all the basic stuff i need to get to make this work. If anyone can suggest anything it would be a big help!!!!!

Well, this has been discussed a lot here. You can start by scrolling down below to the 'Realted Threads' section and read up on some of those. Also, this web siteis a wealth of info on the conversion. They literally wrote the book.

The 2.8 trans WILL NOT bolt up to any chevrolet smallblock. You will need to get a th350, th400, powerglide, or 700r4 trans to bolt up to a 350.

Dang!!! that is an awsome site!!! If I had the funds and time (but mostly funds) I would do an LT1 swap on mine!!! I thought this could only be done with older vehicles. That Blazer looks SICK and I bet it HAULS*SS too!!!

I looked at all the engine swaps and it is not a bolt on fit for the s10. There a number of mods you have to make and it most likely not add any resale value to the car. But then again I was just researching to see what it would take to accomplish a V8swapbut not really interested in doing a V8 mod. Once you start on Mod 1, then the Mods keep on coming. It is a slippery slope that consumes time and money with out much chance for a return on the money spent. But i did admire some of the PICS and the amount of work and talent it takes to accomplish. Only you can decide if it is worth doing. After all it is your car to do as you see fit.
