Stock Front & Rear posi???
Hi I have a 2002 blazer 4wd Whenever i punch it both rear tires engage... also when in 4wd all 4 tires always grip. Did GM make sum blazers with stock front and rear posi or limited slips??? My friend has a 96 blazer and his don't lock up both or all 4 like mine, I was thinking maybe sum kind of option that original owner got with it?? Any sugestions?? Thanks!!!!

Do a quick search for G80, that'll tell you how to find out what you've got in the rear. No type of factory locker or LSD up front, though.

You would have the Auto 4wd option on your 4wd switch. Non-autotrac blazers got 2Hi, 4Hi, 4Lo.

RE: Stock Front & Rear posi???
The front differential is a standard open diff. There is no locker or even a limited slip made for these as the aluminum housing is not all that strong and it takes a ton of work to get to the diff (ie. removing the whole front axle assembly and splitting it in half).
The Gov-Loc (RPO code G80) differential was an optional rear diff. It acts as a standard open differential at speeds above ~30MPH, but has a governor inside that locks the wheels together if it senses an RPM differnce of 100-200RPM (IIRC) between the left and right wheels (below 30MPH as mentioned earlier). This diff has its limitations and inherent weaknesses, but for normal on-road conditions, it is a good compromise between an all out locker and an open diff.
