The chinese block heater I bought at Advance Auto decided to break right at the plug. I've never seen such s**tty, crappy, thin and weak wire in my life! Was so disgusted ...

Ended up finding a 10" length of plug I cut off a computer or printer (can't remember), and just spliced that in.

It's amazing that they'd sell a 600W block heater with a 6' lead and only 22awg wire. Pretty scary actually. It's a wonder the Blazer hasn't gone up in flames ...

Sad part is this computer plug is 16awg - about twice the size of the original. Guess that's how they keep 'em cheap .... by BUILDING them CHEAP ..wtf ..

Wife is happy it's fixed. Warms up in half the time it normally takes.

.

Got it washed.. gave me hope again to fix the things wrong when it gets warm. I was about to sell it because every time i would go out it looked like it needed some lotion it was so covered in salt. It is so damn shiny and in such good shape I could not sell it.
Just gotta fix the mechanical problems (change tranny fluid, tranny pan gasket is leaking too) change the seal on the t-case since that is leaking, and causing the t-case to over fill causing 4wd to not work.
and some front end issues that I need to figure out.. the rest is just minor cosmetic stuff that will be easy for me to fix.)

Bought a cheap CB and PA just to mess around with. Hopefully I can get it mounted over the next week or so.

Default It's a beautiful morning...

Today I decided to lock myself out of my idling truck while trying to see what signal light was out (left rear). Sitting on the hood, back to defroster, trying to stay warm. Worst.

Got my Blazer back from my body and paintshop last week. Finally driver door is fixed again, dents and buckles removed from left side, got all cavities sprayed with rust protection. Hood, left front fender, driver door, left passenger door, left rear fender/side panel new paint and clearcoat.

Went to my Blazer junk-yard and got several parts which had been damaged by my body-shop guys.
- Washer spray plastic part
- Left rearview mirror
- Both rear seatbelts (black ones)

Fixed the rearview mirror.
Put my air cleaner assy back on as I had that one rebuilt and powder coated. Looks funny, one shiny black part admits the rest of the dull stuff in the engine bay.
