What size socket subs for an E 5 Torx socket?
I am in the middle of replacing my 'Multifunction switch' aka Turn signal switch on my 03 Blazer 2 door. I am down to the point of removing an E 5 bolt from the ignition switch. I think I had read on the Blazer forum that you could substitute a 4MM socket for the E 5? I did a search and cannot find it. Is that correct? I don't know if I saw that in a thread about R & R for a ignition switch or a MF switch. I don't have an E 5 socket. I am in the point of not return. I have the MF switch disconnected and don't want to put it all back together to drive to Harbor Freight Tools. Any info on this would be appreciated.

Here's the rest of the story! It's a 4 MM!
I was doing the R & R on my Multifunction switch. See the story in the 'Lighting and Electrical section' under my post on the 'Best M.F. Switch for the 2003 Blazer' thread. To release the top cover of the steering wheel, there is one small E5 bolt you have to remove. I had read here you could subs. a regular socket in 4 mm instead of the rare E 5 socket.
I think a deep 4mm may be better than the standard 4mm. I borrowed and used a standard depth 4mm and it worked with some finagling. It must be a high quality socket. I had a cheap 4mm from one of those 19.99 sets and it just spun. There is only one of these E 5 bolts on the top of the steering wheel cover. and very tight quarters.
