'97 S-10 Air Conditioning Vent Problem
Hey Guys, I have been reading some of the forums regarding the Air Cionditioning. When I turn my Air on it only comes out of the defroster vent. Some people have said that this might be due to a vacuum leak. How do i go about finding this. is there a general area under the hood i should be looking at? Does anyone have a vacuum diagram for a 97 Blazer? Thanks in advance.

under the hood there's a ball that looks like a toilet bowl float (Driverside). If the hose is not connected there I believe you will have the problem you've described.

There is a post of a vacuum diagram for a 96 here:

I am having the same problem. I just received the
GM service manuals and am still working on mine.

The vacuum storage tank on the 97 is actually mounted ON THE HOOD rear driver's side corner. It is quite common for the hose to come off of the tank because it moves whenever the hood is opened. Check this first and let us know if you need more help. The supply line is a BLACK vacuum hose that goes into the engine harness and through the firewall.
