How many hours to install a license plate?
I changed my rear bumper to a piece of square tube steel. I didn't think about installing the license plate and light before I mounted it.
I found a new product called "bolt lights" at my local parts store. I had to drill through the bumper. First I had to purchase a drill bit long enough to go completely through the bumper ( $27). I used 1/2 a can of penetrating oil during the the 1/2 hour of drilling. Then I had to thread the holes to accept the bolt lights. After I fed the wires on the bolt lights through the bumper I had to attatch the wires to the existing plate light wiring. I soldered the connections and used heat shrink tubing to keep it secure and tidy. Trust me when I tell you that it took longer to install than I had planned, but I'm pleased with the results.
I posted this thinking that I'm not the only one who has changed to different style bumpers and this idea might help you.I hope the pictures come through as I'm still an amateur on the computer.
