Default 4x4 interior lights

The last little while i have been having trouble with my dome light fuse blowing. Unfortunatly it also runs the 4wd aswell. Although it hasnt been a big issue until now. Anytime i wanted to use my 4wd i put in a heavier fuse put it in 4wd and pull the fuse out. Pain in the butt but it worked. Now if i puy a heavier fuse in the 4wd lights light up only for a couple of seconds then go out and i cant switch to 4wd. I find electrical problems frustrating. Is there something i am missing. I have checked all the bulbs and wiring for the dome lights and the wiring under the carpet to try and find why the fuse keeps blowing. I need to fix this problem asap.

Have you checked all the other bulbs that run off the same fuse? I think the cargo lamp, glove box lamp, visor mirror lamps, and some others get power from that fuse.
