Default 96 Blazer 20 A pwr accy fuse feels hot

Recently had to change my fuel pump fuse after smelling a burning rubber smell on way home and truck not starting next morning. Very happy it wasn't the fuel pump. While testing other fuses we found this fuse (Pwr Accy) is super hot, is this normal? I'm wondering if I have something electrical going on because my power door locks are not working from the door or the remote when the truck has been driven for awhile (already checked my #7 fuse) and my 2HI light is staying on, my 4lo and 4hi are working fine but the lights never stayed on before. Any thoughts?

Fuses are not supposed to get hot. That is not normal. Failures in seemingly unrelated circuits (fuel pump, locks, accessories). Indicate a problem with your wiring harness. I suspect burning wire insulation is what you smelled. Follow the wiring as much as you can looking for burns, corrosion, or rubbing through. Mine was like that on the bracket under the ABS motor.

I'm sure it's probably in the wiring harness under the seat but I don't have time to be taking this apart right. In the mean time to avoid anything starting a fire I took out the 20 A pwr accy relay. From what I see on other threads I will have to find the short in the wiring harness under the seat by removing the seat.

Seat removal and pulling up the carpet will be required to inspect the seat wiring harness for damage.

Yeah I figured. I'm lazy in that area. I hate wiring. I don't mind taking lights off or hoses. Like I'm pretty sure I have a Mass Air Flow Sensor problem. I will be going to the junk yard to get another one this weekend. Things like that I can do, but wiring. Err. Let me win the lottery first so I can pay someone else to do it.
