if you take it to a shop they can scan the abs code. i know on some of the older ones if you have a abs issue it will throw the brake light too. so could be anything, bad abs wire, bad bearing, etc

Did you find anything? Tonight I went and started my wife's '03 and all the sudden the ABS and Braker Warning lights stayed on. The car is running perfectly, brakes are perfect, but those damn lights are on. Any ideas?
Thanks
Tim

As already stated, step one is to get the abs codes read.As the OPs codes may be entirely different than yours, speculation at this point could just waste your time and money.

I found a cover up to the solution the other night while trying random things. What I did was remove the fuse labeled abs in the fuse box located in the cab. I have noticed that the E-Brake light works correctly now and I am guessing that I won't know if the abs goes out. But I also noticed that the shift warning does not light up anymore witch is also a plus for me.

We just went through this last week as well on our 1996 Blazer Auto

ABS Light & E Brakes Light would come on randomly and then go off

- we scanned it - No Codes
- took front tires off checked and cleaned speed sensors - they still came on/off
- checked and cleaned tranny speed sensor - they still came on/off

- one thing we did find was the rubber seal on the brake fluid reservoir was not seated properly one corner had fallin down into the reservoir slightly (possibly letting some pressure out??) - straightened it out and topped off the fluid

- we removed park brake switch - inspected it - cleaned & reinstalled

- we also replaced the front brake pads they were at 20 - 25% but figured what the hell - New Pads

not 100% sure which one fixed it ( new brakes, park brake switch cleaning or reservoir repair) but all the same its fixed - NO MORE LIGHTS !!

hope it helps ...

this is what I have found that may help some here with the ABS/Brake light on intermittently or on constant. Usually the code is C0265 or C0266 (EBCM Relay circuit). If it's either of these codes then the EBCM may need to be rebuilt or replaced. This video -
- helped explain how to remove the EBCM and repair the relay circuit. If you feel uncomfortable in messing with electronics check out ModuleMaster rebuilds ABS modules for as low as $100, 2 day average turn-around, 5 Year Guarantee

I followed the video and was able to remove and inspect my EBCM with no problems. I don't know enough about repairing electronics to mess with this fix. Plus my EBCM looked fine to me. I will be sending out my EBCM to Module Master in a few days. I will let you know how it works out.

Just a side note, my check engine light is on constant, ABS/Brake light is on most of the time, sometimes will go out for a while but will come back on. With all of this going on my cruise control was working fine. Now my cruise control will not engage. I'm thinking that there may be a bad ground somewhere. I am still searching and checking. It would be kind of sucky if this could all be traced to a bad ground!
