air bag sensor

air bag sensor
I have a 99 blazer and it has an air bag code which points to one of the sensors, the RH measures 0 ohms and the LH measures 8.5. I have an extra off a 97, the plug is different seems like the only difference. My question is can i use the 97 sensor if i change the plug to go with it.

You'd have to know what wire goes to what line IN on the sensor & even soldered connections with weather resistant heat shrink aren't always the best.
Get the proper sensor - it's 'only' an airbag that could save your life or that of a passenger.
Just my thoughts & welcome to forum!

Where can one find info on how to test for sure if the sensors are good. It's strange that if i clear the code, the light will stay off for say 20 minutes or so. If I was going to keep it i would just get rid of the light, but since i'm not i'd like to find a fix.

Try google for the testing perhaps. Personally I'd look for the same model year blazer in a wrecker & get a 'new to you' sensor for $5 or so. Just make sure the connectors are the same.
Have you searched in here for Air Bag Sensors? Might be some info around about the testing etc of them.
