Hey Blazer folks.

I have a 1999 Blazer LT. The drive selector light randomly goes on and off, and all my lights are flickering a bit.

The pics show the what I'm talking about regarding the drive selector light. The light will randomly go off, and then it comes back on in few minutes.

The headlights and interior lights kind of flicker, nothing terrible, but certainly noticeable.

Any ideas on what to check? Loose connection? Loose ground?

I took the Blazer to the local Chevy dealership. The mechanic said the flickering is probably being caused by a bad component in the alternator (triode/diode?). He said the voltage was reading properly (14 volts) and the battery was charging fine, etc, but he though the alternator would die at some point.

He suggested replacing the alternator, which would cost about $450 plus labor!

Anyway, if anyone has any other suggestions, I'd really appreciate it. The flickering is annoying.
