Gauges, 4x4, heater controls, headlights, gone!!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1998 LT 174k 4x4
OK, so I replaced the dash and changed out my wiring harness to the new dash to avoid all this hassle and yet here I am.
So I had headlights originally and they would go out and then come back on every 15 seconds and I heard a clicking each time. No manual headlights though. Also the 4x4 lights would come on for a split second along with all dash gauges. I do have oil pressure gauge. I noticed I had the wrong headlight switch so I bought a new one today, checked every fuse and no help!! I,m removing dash now to see If I missed anything but I looked at the other harness and don't see any ground wires on it at all. I did think there was one on the 4x4 control box under the passenger kick panel but it's not there that I can see.
All switches are replacement except maybe the 4x4 but it did work until I finished the whole interior. Is there any wires I could drive screw thru if I used wrong screw???
Any help would be great guys I know I'm not on here a lot but I've put a lot of money into rebuilding this truck. It was destroyed when I picked it up. Whole interior is new from yard including a 2 setting power seat if that's a possible issue. It doesn't work either, but passenger power seat does.
Passenger door dinger wire i found cut at plug.
Thanks bunches guys and I'm in NWI

So my battery is dead now, and it has a dead cell. Could all this be caused by a bad battery?
Also the temp and compass stuck on for awhile after i put dash back in. No door dinger and headlights are back but fog lights are gone!

Well I wrote up a nice article on several issues I found but i was kicked off for lack of activity and in re logging on it was erased so. YEA I found corrosion somewhere in the electrical system. Sorry I'm not retyping the whole thing when I've gotten no suggestions on even where to start. I guess my question is either to stupid since I'm just a beginning member or because I forgot to list the year of my vehicle and nobody wants to say hey how bout some car info sense it's not listed on your signature buddy!

Well I'm In a similar position. Not everything is the same though. My heater quit. When in is on I have no prndl light up. And I just realized my altenator is not charging since my truck died while driving and needed a boost. I'm gonna take and get the altenator bech tested but also thinking it could maybe be an ignition issue
