Default Stiff rear defogger wires

*edit* Looking at the wiring diagram in the GM manual, the pass side is the ground, that is the side that is broken, so I might just find some good flexible wire, and run a new ground wire, since the drivers side (which gets the power) is fine.

I replaced the lift supports on the glass of the jimmy, hoping to have defoggers again, realized that previous owner cut one of the connectors that attaches to the tab of the lift support and just soldered the wire in place. well that broke off.
So I put the new ones on and the defogger wires are extremely stiff (not sure if its cause of the age or just a terrible design by GM)
Anyways, is it possible to replace these wires with something more flexible?
I think that will fix the problem of those stupid tabs breaking after a year.
