2002 two-wheel drive
Well I read the forums and still cannot turn off my daytime running lights I've tried pulling the fuses and relays like several suggested but they still come on also is there a way to trick the sensor on the dash I noticed if I laid my work light up there that they would go off only full size truck mine is a 2002 so I don't know what I have to do to shut off the daytime running lights any ideas

For my 1999, I came up with a pretty elaborate by-pass circuit to disable the lights on mine. I designed the circuit so that I could manually override them and have the components be removable by being plugged into the stock electrical harness. I would not recommend this route unless you are super into reverse engineering 20 y.o. GM electrical circuits. LOL
For your 2002, the BCM could be different enough that even my work-around would not work. The only way to be sure of how to disable the DRLs is with the schematics for a 2002 or if you can find someone who has done it themselves. This would likely be a permanent solution. I am guessing the DRL relay would have to be disabled. This where the schematics would guide you on what to do.
As an FYI, at least for some years, the DRL (I think) could supposedly be overridden by pressing the dome-override button 5 times. I tried it on mine and it never worked. I then learned that for vehicles delivered to Canada, the DRL system was mandatory whereas in the States it is not. I suspect the reason the pressing of the dome override button never worked for me was because mine was built and first delivered to Canada (but later sold in the States).
