Summit sells 3" blocks with corrected pinion angles.

It's actually the other way around. To lower a 4wd, you buy the drop blocks for the rear and you're done as far as money is concerned. Well...it's a good idea to get an alignment after you back your torsion bar bolts all the way out but still, you're only into it for MAX $100 plus your time to put the blocks on and take the bolts out. $100 plus an hour or two (depending on how bad things are rusted up in the rear) and you've got a 2/3 drop. How much does a 2/3 drop cost on a 2wd? Cut the bumpstops and add drop shocks (roughly $160-200 for four) and you've freed up about another inch for a total of 3/4. How much does a 3/4 drop cost on a 2wd? Also, lifting a 4wd requires 6" Superlift, 5" BDS lift, 2"BL or an all-out SAS. All of which (with the exception of the BL) are $1000+. A quick search for 2wd lift kits shows a 3.5" spindle lift kit for $881.
To the OP, if you really want to do it right (whether 2 or 4wd), you should buy drop leaf springs for the rear, but they are quite a bit more than blocks.

Most drop/lift blocks have pinion angle correction built into them.
As far as lowering a 4wd goes, different strokes for different folks. Everyone has the right to do whatever they want with their truck. You can have an opinion about it, but in the end, only the owner's opinion matters.

How much more are the drop leaf springs for the rear? And is there any advantage to using them over the blocks?

yeah theirs a diffence in the ride from blocks and drop leafs with the leafs u dont get the rear hop like u do with the blocks. thier is no reason to change out your rear shocks unless u go lower than 5" in the back just cut your front and rear bump stops and your good u can change out your shocks if you want but its not needed.

and hit jegs up for your blocks not summit jegs is only $58 for 4" blocks with the new u bolts and yea they have the right angle
