1998 Blazer 2-Door -- Philadelphia,PA
A month ago I purchased a black 2 door 1998 Chevrolet Blazer with only 76,000 original miles. I purchased the vehicle on site after a test drive even though I am not a mechanic, the price and the car seemed like a really good deal. Also, it had brand new inspection stickers that won't have to be redone for another year, the tire tread was great and looked brand new, under the hood everything seemed to be very clean. I inspected the vehicle for rust, because I knew to do at least that much (especially due to the year of the vehicle) but found nothing of concern. The inside was very clean and looked like it was a well taken care of machine.
Immediately after purchase, I brought the vehicle to my mechanic who has been fixing my cars for the past twenty years and asked him to take a look and tell me what a mistake I had made. He said everything was in perfectly fine working condition, his only concern was that the fuel lines and the brake lines were never replaced making them 18 years old, he suggested I spend 800-1000 to get those replaced, because there is no telling if they will last only one year or five. All in all, I couldn't be happier with this purchase, the four wheel drive feature is amazing in the snow, and I absolutely love this suv/truck, my only complaint would be the manuevering required in order to get in to the back seat for my passengers, other than that, there is ample room for two full size adults in the back and also plenty of places for storage. The only aftermarket thing I did to this vehicle was to tint the two driver and passenger side windows in order to get as close as possible to the tint of the surrounding windows. Here are some pics below, and thanks for having me!
