Hey everyone,

Forgot to post an intro thread when I first joined, so I'll post one now. Looking back on it I must win some kind of award for most detailed or most pictures in an intro thread.

My name is Cory. I'm 18 and live in Murfreesboro, TN. Getting ready to start my first year at Tennessee Tech University majoring in Electrical Engineering. I've had my '98 Blazer LT 4dr 4wd for about 2.5-3yrs now, it is my first vehicle and I don't intend on wrecking it anytime soon.

Some info on the Blazer:

Stereo is upgraded in all the important areas. Alpine CDA-9883 head unit, JL Audio 6.5" door speakers, JL Audio 500/1 amp, 3 JL Audio 12W1 woofers in a sealed box.

I have a Spectre washable oiled air filter on the stock intake, looking into CAI as a future upgrade.

Bits of catalyst substrate are lodged in my muffler so a Flowmaster 50 series is on the list for future upgrades as well.

Aftermarket smoked tail lights, black corners and black Halo style headlights with 7000K HID's.

My sunroof had some problems with one side wanting to move and the other side not so it doesnt open and is too expensive for a whole new sunroof, so I just use it as a sky window.

Transmission has an aux cooler and a shift kit installed along with a corvette 1-2 servo. Gotta love that 1-2 shift. Spins the tires a bit when the roads are wet and im gettin on the throttle.

1.5" T-bar crank

Running 30x9.50 Firestone Destination A/T tires on factory rims, love the tires.

I try to do as many repairs as I can myself, learning as I go.

I change my own oil. ATM I'm running 10W-30 Royal Purple oil and a K&N oil filter, change the oil every 10k, filter every 5k. It's a good idea not to put off changing the filter often if you use the K&N, it has no bypass valve so if the filter element gets so dirty oil can't pass, you're pretty screwed.

Interior, black carpet, black leather seats (or is it vinyl? I'm not sure of how to tell the difference by looking at it), black dash, black everything basically.

Uh, that's about it I think. Eaton G80 diff, 3.73 gears.

Pics:

These pics are either related to my Blazer or having something to do with my life. I'd say they're relevant in a thread about... well, me.

Pre-aftermarket lighting, urban offroading. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y60...MAGE_011-1.jpg

Post-aftermarket lighting in the driveway in the middle of winter. Yes my Blazer is an amateur rapper.

Post-lighting urban offroading. This was when I had crappy almost bald tires. Actually had to put it in 4wd to drive over the wet grass, almost got stuck even in 4wd too in a slightly muddy area.

I felt this moment was special somehow so I took a picture.

My uncle got in a head on collision with some small car because they weren't paying attention in his Trailblazer. Small car was totaled. Trailblazer had some cosmetic damage.

Here's a pic of my dog. Her name is Emily. She's a short nosed Pomeranian.

My buddy Jaycey died in a car wreck about a year ago. He was 18 or 19 at the time and was about to start his first year of college. He was passenger in his friends CRX when some Honda car pulled out in front of them and hit them, causing the CRX to slide into oncoming traffic where it hit a Nissan Armada. The driver survived, Jaycey didn't. At least I know it was quick and painless.

This is the only pic of the wreck I have. You're looking at the rear of a CRX.

A candlelight vigil was held behind the pizza place he worked at.

A 240sx doing a burnout after all the kind words were said. Jaycey was a big 240 fan.

The police showed up, but they didn't dare try to interfere with the vigil. They mingled around and made sure there were no more burnouts or anything like that.

If you've made it this far through I guess you won't mind a lil story about what Jayceys family is doing for the driver that survived, named Grantham.

Jaycey was a 240SX fan like mentioned earlier. He had picked up a 240 in rough shape for about $200 at a junkyard and he was gonna fix it up, be a lil project car for him. He never actually got it drivable, let alone making it look nice/perform well.

Jaycey's dad started taking donations from everyone for the car. He's fixing it up (really nice I might add) to give to Grantham when he's able to drive. Lots of companies heard about this and offered free or discounted parts/labor.
It's been a while since I've heard any updates on it but last I heard about it, it has a $2k paint job, the engine was completely rebuilt using beefier internals for the turbo, the seats came out of a 300Z and the brakes came off a 350Z (or vice versa, i always forget). When the car is finished the only thing about it that isn't changed is probably the chassis.

I'm gonna end it here. That's a lot of stuff lol.

EDIT: Forgot to add these pics.

My prom date and I before prom.

lol after reading that i feel like i've known you for years

how do you like your headlights and tail lights? do they look as good as you thought they would when you ordered them? or did they slightly dissappoint you? and i think i have that exact alpine head unit in my car haha, woot! and the dog looks cute! i had a pomeranian poodle a while ago, so cute! and so was your prom date

sucks about your friend though, it really sucks when stuff like that happpens cause it's such an unatural thing and usually caused by some dick being an idiot driver and then they end up ruining or ending someone's life, it's really hard stuff to deal with.

and yeah i try to fix everything myself, learning as i go, it's nice because I live on a farm so i have a huge shop with tones of tools, it's just figuring out what to do and then figuring out how to fix what you screw up when you do it wrong haha, always takes so long to do the first time, then once you get the hang of it then it's over and you'll likely never need to do it again haha. unless you screw up a lot like me
